IPhone 16 Pro Max disappoints in charging speed

Recent tests conducted by the ChargerLAB website revealed that the new iPhone 16 Pro Max does not achieve the declared charging speed of 45 watts, which may disappoint consumers wishing to upgrade.

Tests have shown that the iPhone 16 Pro Max reaches a maximum charging speed of only about 30 watts, which is a slight improvement over the 27 watts of the previous generation iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The site used the official Apple charger with a power of 140 watts with the original cable attached to the phone, but the results showed that the charging did not exceed 30.19 watts, which is much less than the declared speed.

The site also tested the phone with other chargers from Apple and external companies, but the results were similar, as the maximum speed reached 31.86 Watts with one of the external chargers.

Experts attributed this performance to the lack of an E-marker chip in the phone, which is responsible for managing power delivery and data transfer in high-speed USB-C cables.

Although these results represent an improvement over the previous generation, they may be misleading to consumers who expect a much higher charging speed when buying the latest iPhone versions
