Apple plans to launch a new operating system known as homeOS, intended for use with the company's long-awaited smart screens. According to a report from Bloomberg, the first version of these smart screens is expected to arrive in 2025.
Details of smart screens
Reports indicate that the new smart screens are similar to the HomePod, but equipped with a viewable display. The Apple team is working on developing a smart screen for a tablet raised on the table, which contains a robotic arm that enables tilting and rotating the screen to improve the viewing angle.
Two versions of smart screens
Gorman reports that two versions are in development:
Basic smart screen: offers basic functions such as FaceTime and smart home device control.
Advanced smart screen: it comes equipped with a robotic arm and its cost exceeds 1,000 dollars.
The cheaper version is expected to be released next year, followed by the advanced version in 2026 at the latest.
Integration with artificial intelligence
Apple Intelligence will be an essential part of the user experience in both versions of smart screens.
The homeOS system aims to provide an integrated smart experience based on artificial intelligence, which facilitates interaction with home appliances and enhances the capabilities of smart TV.
The basis of homeOS
The homeOS system is based on the tvOS system of Apple TV devices, ensuring smooth integration with the rest of Apple devices and providing an integrated and effective user experience.
