Apple has introduced new updates to the macOS Sequoia and iOS 18 operating systems, adding the iPhone Screen Mirroring feature on Mac devices running the new version. The "reverse iPhone screen" feature allows you to display the phone screen on a Mac and use the mouse and keyboard to interact with it.
Here's how to set up this feature and make the most of it
Basic requirements
To activate the iPhone Screen Mirroring feature, the following conditions must be met:
1 compatible Mac: the system works with Macs with Apple Silicon processors (from late 2020 onwards) or Intel processors with Apple T2 security chip (from 2018 to 2020).
2 system update: the macOS Sequoia system must be installed.
3 iOS system: the phone needs to run iOS 18.
4 Connection Settings: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be activated on both devices.
5 accounts: Login using the "Apple account" with activation of two-step verification (using a trusted device or phone number).
6 device conditions: the iPhone must be locked to use the feature during charging or standby mode. Unlocking the phone during use temporarily disconnects the connection.
7 additional restrictions: the feature cannot be used if your personal hotspot is active or if you are using AirPlay, Sidecar, or internet sharing on your Mac.
How to set up iPhone screen mirroring
1 open the “reverse iPhone screen " application on your Mac, usually located in the toolbar (Dock) or in the Applications folder.
2 show the screen of welcome and press “Continue” and follow the instructions to unlock iPhone.
3 approve iPhone notifications on your Mac. Phone alerts will appear in the Notification Center on the Mac, and you can click on them to open the corresponding application in the application opposite the screen.
4 after approval, click on the “start” button to display the screen of the iPhone on your Mac.
