A new update solves audio recording and password security issues on iPhone

Apple has launched two new updates for iPhones and iPads to address problems with voice recording and password security. The update includes iOS 18.0.1 for iPhone and iPadOS 18.0.1 for iPad.

The new update fixes a problem with audio recording on all iPhone 16 models in the Messages application, where the microphone was automatically starting recording seconds before the Orange microphone icon appeared.

The update also addresses a flaw in the VoiceOver function that was reading saved passwords aloud, posing a security threat.

The update includes iPhone XS and beyond, iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (third generation and beyond), iPad Pro 11-inch (first generation and beyond), iPad Air (third generation and beyond), iPad (seventh generation and beyond), iPad mini (fifth generation and beyond).

The update also allows users of iPads equipped with the M4 processor to upgrade to iOS 18, after the initial version was withdrawn, which caused some devices to be disabled.

You can download the new updates by going to the “software updates” section in the general settings.
